Closings accompany mid-week holiday

Area offices will be ringing in the new year with reduced hours of operation this week.

Franklin County government offices will be closed Wednesday. City of Ottawa offices could possibly be closing early today, but not definitely, city officials said. City offices will be closed Wednesday.

The Ottawa Library, 105 S. Hickory St., Ottawa will close at 1 p.m. today and will be closed Wednesday. The East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging, 132 S. Main St., also will be closed Wednesday.

The Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce, 109 E. Second St., might close early today depending on how the day goes, officials said, but will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Ottawa Community Recreation Center/Goppert Building, 705 W. 15th St., is set to close at 3 p.m. today and will remain closed Wednesday.

The U.S. Post Office, 401 S. Hickory St., will not deliver mail Wednesday.

Publication days for The Ottawa Herald will remain as scheduled, but the office, 104 S. Cedar St., will close early at 2 p.m. today and will be closed Wednesday.
