Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 12:14 p.m. Wednesday, 400 block of Hoover Street, Chad Smith, 37, Pomona, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 4:37 p.m. Wednesday, 3000 block of Sand Creek Road, a 46-year-old Ottawa man reported the theft of several items from his property. After further investigation, David Martin, 24, and Nathan Albright, 28, both of Ottawa, were arrested on suspicion of theft and interference with law enforcement.

• 8:26 a.m. Thursday, 300 block of East Ash Street, Robert Ward, 34, Williamsburg, on suspicion of domestic battery and on a probation violation.• 10:20 a.m. Thursday, 2200 block of East Wilson Street, Jerry Spurlock Jr., no age or address given, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Franklin County jail, 305 S. Main St., Sarah Galutia, 25, Ottawa, on two Franklin County warrants.

• 11:47 a.m. Friday, 200 block of South Beech Street, a 16-year-old Richmond girl on a Franklin County warrant.

• 3:04 p.m. Friday, 3200 block of I-35, a 12-year-old Ottawa boy on suspicion of battery. The boy was transported to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center awaiting further evaluation, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 6:51 p.m. Friday, Franklin County jail, 305 S. Main St., Rebecca Lohman, 51, Quenemo, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 11:15 p.m. Friday, 3700 block of Sand Creek Road, Kathryn Clayton, 21, Ottawa, on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

• 12:53 p.m. Friday, Franklin County jail, 305 S. Main St., Phillip Hoehn, 46, Rantoul, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 10:07 p.m. Friday, Walmart Supercenter parking lot, 2101 S. Princeton St., Kyrstin Hoke, 23, Garnett, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

• 11:02 p.m. Friday, 400 block of Beech Street, Michelle Rocker, 43, Ottawa, on suspicion of pedestrian under the influence, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

• 5:25 p.m. Saturday, T-Mobile, 1602 S. Main St., Osby Pendleton, 33, Ottawa, on suspicion of disorderly conduct and pedestrian under the influence after causing a disturbance in the store.

• 4:26 p.m. Sunday, 100 block of West 11th Street, Kameron Deron Lindsay, 20, Olathe, on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• 6:26 p.m. Sunday, 100 block of South Locust Street, Julian J. Howard, 39, Ottawa, on suspicion of criminal damage to property in a domestic-related incident.

Incidents

• 5:18 p.m. Friday, Thomas and Colorado roads, a 61-year-old Overbrook man reported that while driving a West Franklin school bus west on Thomas Road he was passed by a dump truck that kicked up a large rock from the roadway and hit the side of the bus, leaving a large dent on the driver’s side. A damage report was taken.

Thefts

• 9:39 a.m. Wednesday, 3500 block of Florida Road, a 70-year-old Olathe man reported a chop saw, tool box and miscellaneous tools were stolen from his storage property. Estimated loss was $250.

• 5 p.m. Wednesday, 900 block of John Brown Road, two Williamsburg men reported an unknown suspect stole a refrigerator from a property.

Accidents

• 6:47 p.m. Wednesday, K-68 and Indiana Road, a 1999 Buick Le Sabre driven by Jan St. Pierre, 50, Ottawa, was eastbound in the 1700 block of K-68 when it struck a deer.

• 2:53 p.m. Friday, I-35 milepost 202, a vehicle driven by Zachariah Stephens, 21, De Soto, lost control because of icy conditions and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn.

• 3:10 p.m. Friday, I-35 milepost 193, a vehicle driven by Malia Greiner, no age or address given, lost control because of icy conditions and rolled over.

• 3:42 p.m. Friday, 400 block of K-68, a vehicle driven by Bailey J. Corwine, 17, Quenemo, lost control because of icy conditions and rolled over. Corwine was not injured, the sheriff’s report said.

• 3:51 p.m. Friday, 4600 block of U.S. 59, a 1996 Toyota Avalon driven by Sara Hawes, 22, Paola, was southbound on U.S. 59 when it lost control because of icy conditions and went into the median, according to a sheriff’s report. When Hawes drove the vehicle back onto the highway, it was struck from behind by a 1997 Honda Accord driven by Cedric Bush, 30, Lawrence. Both vehicles were disabled, and there were no injuries, the report said.

• 3:58 p.m. Friday, 3100 block of Shawnee Road, a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Jennifer Baise, 24, Wellsville, lost control because of icy conditions and went into the south ditch and overturned. Baise was taken by private vehicle to Ransom Memorial Hospital, 1301 S. Main St., Ottawa, for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

• 4:25 p.m. Friday, I-35 milepost 191, a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Mary O’Neal, 19, Blue Springs, Mo., lost control because of icy conditions, and it overturned on its top in the median. No injuries were reported.

• 4:31 p.m. Friday, K-68 and Indiana Road, a vehicle driven by John Alford lost control because of icy conditions and left the roadway. No injuries were reported.

• 4:37 p.m. Friday, K-68 and Arkansas Road, a vehicle driven by Abel Frederic Jr., 29, Ottawa, lost control because of icy conditions and left the roadway. No injuries were reported.

• 4:50 p.m. Friday, I-35 milepost 198, a vehicle driven by Kylie Hoffman, 23, Wellsville, was westbound on the off-ramp at I-35 milepost 198 when she lost control of the vehicle and it was struck by another vehicle driven by Nicole Garrett, 18, Wellsville.

• 5:13 p.m. Friday, 4600 block of U.S. 59, a vehicle driven by Cassandra Johnson, 22, Ottawa, was southbound on U.S. 59 when she slowed down for a vehicle backing down the shoulder of the highway and was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Stacey Langley, 26, Livingston, Texas. No injures were reported.

• 5:27 p.m. Friday, 3952 I-35, a 1999 Toyota Camry driven by Jordan Morrow, 19, Topeka, lost control because of icy conditions and struck a guardrail near Tennessee Road. No injuries were reported.

• 2:59 a.m. Saturday, I-35 milepost 170, a 2004 Dodge 1500 driven by Reynaldo Paniagua-Medina, 45, Worthington, Minn., was southbound on I-35 at milepost 170 when it struck the back of a Kansas Department of Transportation International snow plow driven by Ricky Conner, 57, Ottawa, as it was turning around on an interstate cross-over path, according to a sheriff’s report. Medina was transported by ambulance to Ransom Memorial Hospital with possible injuries, the report said.

• 8:45 a.m. Saturday, I-35 milepost 197, a 2009 Freightliner driven by Joseph Heffelfinger, 57, Florida, jackknifed, causing damage to the truck.

• 9:33 a.m. Saturday, 2100 block of I-35, a rental moving truck driven by Rick Bartlett, Massachusetts, lost control because of icy conditions and overturned in the median. No injuries were reported.

• 9:48 a.m. Saturday, I-35 milepost 179, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jamie Wood, no age or address given, lost control because of icy conditions and struck a guardrail. No injuries were reported.

• 10 a.m. Saturday, I-35 milepost 179, a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Brett Johnson, Wichita, lost control because of icy conditions and struck a bridge railing. No injuries were reported.

• 11:11 a.m. Saturday, 1700 block of I-35, a 2002 Ford F-150 driven by Scott Sandstrom, 25, Emporia, lost control because of icy conditions and rolled over. No injuries were reported.

Incidents

• 10:41 p.m. Friday, 700 block of West Second Street, a 25-year-old Wellsville man reported the possible physical abuse of a 5-year-old known Ottawa girl. The case remains under investigation, according to a police report.

• 3:42 p.m. Friday, 300 block of South Mulberry Street, a 31-year-old Ottawa man was taken into protective custody after exhibiting bizarre behavior, according to a police report.

Thefts

• Friday, no time given, Steanson Plumbing, 133 N. Cedar St., a 57-year-old Ottawa man reported unknown suspects damaged the door to his business where they gained entry and stole items.

• 6:16 p.m. Friday, 800 block of Locust Street, a 19-year-old Ottawa woman reported someone stole items from her residence.

• 11:06 p.m. Friday, 200 block of East Logan Street, a 35-year-old Ottawa woman reported the theft of a financial card and cash. Later, the woman reported the unlawful use of the financial card at Kansas State Bank, 236 N. Main St., and Short Stop, 1621 S. Main St., according to police reports.

• 7:04 p.m. Sunday, 200 block of East Dundee Street, a 40-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft of two items.

Accidents

• 3:16 p.m. Friday, I-35 milepost 187, a vehicle driven by Kathleen Hobart, 29, Wichita, lost control because of icy conditions and struck a vehicle driven by Collen Coffin, 22, Olathe. Coffin’s vehicle struck another vehicle driven by Brenda Nelson, 64, Overland Park.

• 3:38 p.m. Friday, I-35 milepost 187, a vehicle driven by Linda Greenburg, 69, Wichita, lost control because of icy conditions and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn in the median. Greenburg and her two passengers were transported to a local hospital for medical attention, according to a police report.

• 3:39 p.m. Friday, East Wilson and North Cherry streets, a vehicle driven by Jamie Jones, 29, Ottawa, struck a vehicle driven by Richard Delatorre, 67, Ottawa. Jones was cited for unsafe speed for prevailing conditions.

• 4:09 p.m. Friday, 2100 block of South Princeton Street, a vehicle driven by Samantha Golden, 21, Ottawa, struck a vehicle driven by Bethany Golden, 18, Ottawa. Samantha Golden was cited for following to close.

• 9:04 p.m. Friday, 1500 block of South Main Street, a 21-year-old Ottawa man reported a vehicle struck his vehicle at the intersection of 15th and Main streets and left the scene.

• 3:17 p.m. Sunday, 300 block of East Fourth Street, a Ford SUV driven by Charles Lucas, 43, Ottawa, lost control and struck a utility pole.
