Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 10:24 a.m. Wednesday, 700 block of South Elm Street, Lyndsay K. Cowdin, 20, Ottawa, on suspicion of forgery.

• 11:04 a.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Jarrod Harris, 29, Olathe, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 3:46 p.m. Wednesday, 200 block of Madison Street, Jamie L. Thornton, 34, Pomona, on a Johnson County warrant.

Police Department Arrests

• 8:46 p.m. Wednesday, Ottawa Mini Mart, 2120 S. Princeton St., a 43-year-old Ottawa woman reported the theft of cash. Jordan Eckman, 21, Ottawa, later was arrested on suspicion of theft, according to a police report.

• 12:21 p.m. Thursday, Ottawa High School, 1120 S. Ash St., a 15-year-old Ottawa boy was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• 2:18 p.m. Thursday, 1300 block of North Sycamore Street, Jacob Vonweller, 34, Ottawa, on suspicion of domestic battery.

• 7:40 p.m. Thursday, 11th and College streets, an 11-year-old Ottawa boy reported he was battered by a known suspect. The suspect, a 13-year-old Ottawa boy, later was arrested on suspicion of battery, according to a police report.

Thefts

• 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, 2200 block of East 15th Street, a 65-year-old Lawrence man reported someone broke into his storage unit at I-35 Mini Storage and stole a Panasonic sound bar and an RCA speaker. Loss was estimated at $250, according to a sheriff’s report.

Accidents

• 8:59 p.m. Wednesday, Rock Creek and Vermont roads, a vehicle driven by Linda Jensen, 66, Rantoul, was traveling on Rock Creek Road, west of Vermont Road, when it struck a deer, according to a sheriff’s report. No injuries were reported, and damage was estimated at less than $1,000, the report said.

Incidents

• 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, 300 block of South Maple Street, a 32-year-old Ottawa woman, a 60-year-old Wellsville man and a 36-year-old Ottawa man reported they were battered by an 11-year-old Ottawa boy.

• 8:36 a.m. Thursday, 600 block of North King Street, a 45-year-old Rantoul man reported an unknown suspect damaged his vehicle.

• 3:47 p.m. Thursday, 900 block of South Cedar Street, a 15-year-old Ottawa boy reported he was battered by an unknown suspect.

Accidents

• 4:13 p.m. Wednesday, 900 block of North Main Street, a vehicle driven by Peggy Klink, 60, Ottawa, was northbound on Main Street when it was struck by a vehicle driven by Margaret Weidner, 24, Richmond, that was westbound on Wilson Street. Weidner was cited for disobeying a stop sign, and Klink was cited for no proof of insurance, according to a police report.

• 4:12 p.m. Thursday, 200 block of West Fourth Street, a vehicle driven by Glenn Eickhoff, 16, Paola, was westbound on Fourth Street when it was struck by a Mercury Mountaineer driven by an unknown person. The Mountaineer left the scene, according to a police report. Kenneth Buck, 63, Levenworth, a passenger in Eickhoff’s vehicle, received minor injuries, the report said. The incident remains under investigation.

• 11:12 p.m. Thursday, 1500 block of Osage Drive, a vehicle driven by an unknown person struck a City of Ottawa utility box. The driver then fled the scene, according to a police report.
