Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 2 p.m. Saturday, 4500 block of Finney Road, Julie Buchholz, 54, Lane, on suspicion of domestic battery.

Police Department Arrests

• 10:18 a.m. Friday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Jeffrey Huntington, 60, Fontana, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 11:52 a.m. Friday, 700 block of South Locust Street, a 12-year-old Ottawa boy was arrested on suspicion of hitting a known 37-year-old Ottawa woman and a known 14-year-old Ottawa girl.

• 1:11 a.m. Saturday, 1200 block of South Cedar Street, Levi Bowen, 26, Lawrence, on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

• 3:48 a.m. Saturday, 1100 block of North Mulberry Street, Kassandra Montoya, 22, Ottawa, on suspicion of criminal damage to property (domestic).

• 9:28 p.m. Saturday, Zarco 66, 2518 E. Logan St., Jenifer Cain, 26, Mulberry, Kansas, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and no proof of liability insurance.

• 10:39 a.m. Sunday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., David Cory Doan, 22, Spring Hill, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 8:38 p.m. Sunday, 900 block of North Locust Street, Christina Velez, 34, Ottawa, on suspicion of drug paraphernalia and concealing a weapon.

• 8:38 p.m. Sunday, 900 block of North Locust Street, Charles Grissom, 25, Ottawa, on suspicion of a felon in possession of a firearm.

Incidents

• 5:47 p.m. Friday, 203 W. Main St., Rantoul, the sheriff’s office responded to a call of a possible deceased individual. A 63-year-old Rantoul man was found dead in the home of apparent natural causes.

• 12 a.m. Sunday, 1200 block of Osborne Road, sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an underage drinking party and found several juvenile-age suspects under the influence of alcohol, according to a sheriff’s report.

Thefts

• 3:56 p.m. Friday, 1457 U.S. 59, a 55-year-old Ottawa man reported a trailer used to haul vehicles was stolen from the lot at Franklin County Auctions. The trailer was owned by a Lane man. The case is under investigation.

Accidents

• 1:54 p.m. Friday, 2300 block of U.S. 59, a Honda SUV driven by Daniel Shoemake, 65, Lincoln, Nebraska, was traveling north on U.S. 59 when it stopped for traffic and was struck by a 2011 Camaro driven by Thomas Mersman, 25, Greeley, which failed to stop for the SUV. No one was injured.

• Friday, no time given, 900 block of North Cedar Street, James Adell, 38, Ottawa, was cited and released on a notice to appear in court on suspicion of battering a known 18-year-old Ottawa man.

• 11:44 p.m. Sunday, 500 block of South Hickory Street, Cai Yeager, 23, Ottawa, was cited for discharging fireworks within the city limits.

• 4:13 a.m. Monday, 1100 block of North Mulberry Street, a 50-year-old Ottawa woman was provided assistance after reporting to have self-destructive tendencies, according to a police report.

Thefts

• 6:57 p.m. Friday, 800 block of South Cedar Street, a 19-year-old Ottawa woman reported the theft of items from an apartment.

Accidents

• 11:52 a.m. Friday, 2500 block of K-68, a vehicle driven by Tamra Timbrook, 32, Ottawa, struck a vehicle driven by Milka Aintila, 41, Ottawa. Timbrook was cited for inattentive driving.

• 11:57 a.m. Saturday, 2000 block of South Princeton Street, a vehicle driven by Robert Thompson, 53, Ottawa, struck a vehicle driven by Kacie Burkdoll, 31, Waverly, Kansas. Thompson was cited for inattentive driving.
