Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 9:19 a.m. Thursday, Vermont Road and North McGinnis Avenue, Charles Richmond, 45, Rantoul, on warrants from Lyon and Jackson counties.

• 6:09 p.m. Thursday, 100 block of West 15th Street, James Graham, 58, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, on suspicion of driving with a revoked license.

• 11:46 p.m. Saturday, 4400 block of I-35, Cody Ervin-Murphy, 19, Gardner, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 12:27 a.m. Saturday, 1500 block of South Main Street, Lamarr West, 24, St. Louis, Missouri, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license after being stopped for a traffic violation.

• 3:45 a.m. Saturday, 800 block of East 15th Street, Michael Neighbors, 26, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for a traffic violation.

• 11:44 a.m. Saturday, Seventh and Main streets, Cody Mason, 22, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and disobeying a stop sign.

• 12:03 p.m. Saturday, 600 block of North Davis Avenue, Jack Shaker, 31, Kansas City, Missouri, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• 2:53 p.m. Saturday, 1200 block of Ash Street, Dustin A. Dhooghe, 27, Ottawa, on suspicion of domestic battery.

• 10 p.m. Saturday, 200 block of East Keokuk Street, Shela Chilton, 46, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and transporting an open container. Joseph Geist, 54, Ottawa, also was arrested on suspicion of transporting an open container.

• 10:38 p.m. Saturday, 100 block of East Keokuk Street, Nathan Lang, 34, Baldwin City, 34, on suspicion of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, no insurance and driving with a suspended license.

• 8:58 a.m. Sunday, 900 block of Burroughs Street, a 29-year-old Ottawa woman reported a suspect broke into her home and stole items. Lucas Simpkins, 34, Ottawa, later was arrested in connection with the incident, according to a police report.

• 7:40 p.m., SW Fairview Drive, a 65-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown suspect broke the left rear window of his 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup. Estimated damage was $200.

Thefts

• 8:09 a.m. Saturday, 2500 block of Eisenhower Road, a 59-year-old Ottawa man reported someone stole gas from a van. Estimated loss was $24.

• 12:25 p.m. Saturday, 100 block of Shawnee Road, a 51-year-old Shawnee, Kansas, man reported the theft of four trailer wheels and a Stihl chain saw from a shipping container located on his property. Estimated loss was $460.

Incidents

• 2:20 p.m. Friday, 1000 block of Olive Street, a 16-year-old Ottawa boy was bitten by a dog owned by Brian Williams, 46, Ottawa. Williams later was cited on suspicion of harboring a vicious dog and no city registration.

• 9:02 p.m. Friday, 100 block of West 10th Street, a 33-year-old Ottawa woman was taken into protective custody after trying to harm herself.

Thefts

• 8:28 a.m. Friday, 700 block of Lincoln Street, a 70-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown suspect stole his prescription medicine.

• 7:25 p.m. Friday, 500 block of South Locust Street, a 20-year-old Ottawa man reported someone stole items from his residence.

Accidents

• 5:55 p.m. Friday, 600 block of South Cherry Street, a vehicle driven by James Adell, 38, Ottawa, struck a vehicle driven by Ashley Evans, 22, Ottawa. Adell was cited with reckless driving, basic speed and improper passing on the right. Evans was cited with improper stopping in a roadway.

• Friday: 200 block of 10th Street, burglary; 200 block of East Fifth Street, theft; 400 block of Walnut Street, harassment.

• Saturday: 500 block of Main Street, motorist assist.
