Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 9:39 a.m. Friday, 1600 block of Osborne Road, William Scott Kiefer, 42, Pomona, on a Franklin County warrant for a probation violation.

• 10:43 a.m. Friday, 200 block of West Fifth Street, John Penner, 28, Pomona, on a Franklin County warrant for violating bond conditions.

• 12:55 p.m. Friday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Herbert Hayden, 70, Garnett, on two Franklin County warrants for felony theft.

• 12:14 a.m. Saturday, I-35 and Eisenhower Road, Kevin Maples, 30, El Paso, Texas, on suspicion of driving while his license was revoked and on two City of Olathe warrants.

• 6:09 p.m. Friday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Darren Jones, 20, Eudora, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 1:22 a.m. Saturday, 600 block of South Main Street, Ricardo Felix Jr., 24, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving under the influence after being stopped for failing to stop at a signal light.

• 8:35 p.m. Sunday, 600 block of South Sycamore Street, Curtis Brown, 38, on suspicion of criminal damage to property.

• 2:52 p.m. Sunday, Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Herbert Hayden, 70, Garnett, reported he was battered by Phillip Guyle Jr., 20, Pomona, while incarcerated in the Franklin County Adult Detention Center.

Accidents

• 8:24 a.m. Friday, 3400 block of I-35, a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Leslie Rogers, 27, Wellsville, was southbound on I-35 near milepost 192 when a rock struck the windshield.

• 11:11 p.m. Saturday, 800 block of North Birch Street, a 13-year-old Ottawa boy was taken into protective custody after having been found without adequate parental care.

•12:56 a.m. Sunday, 1000 block of South Ash Street, a 35-year-old Ottawa man reported damage to his front door.

Thefts

• 2:52 p.m. Friday, Ottawa Police Department, 715 W. Second St., a 47-year-old Gardner man reported damage and theft of trash cans owned by Gardner Sanitation.

• 7:17 a.m. Friday, East Fifth and South Poplar streets, investigated smoke odor. No fire reported.

• 7:06 p.m. Friday, 634 S. Beech St., unauthorized burning.

• 8:14 a.m. Sunday, 627 S. Poplar St., authorized controlled burning.

• 1:32 p.m. Sunday, 625 S. Sycamore St., investigated electric wiring. No fire reported.

• Firefighters assisted with 10 medical calls Friday through Sunday.
