Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 6:11 a.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Dakota Busch, 20, Princeton on a Franklin County warrant.

• 10:39 a.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Christopher Irons, 28, Ottawa, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, 4500 block of I-35, Christopher Irons, 28, Ottawa, on a Franklin County warrant.

Police Department Arrests

• 1:14 p.m. Wednesday, 1200 block of South Main Street, Curtis W. Cavender, 22, Ottawa, on suspicion of battering a 20-year-old Ottawa woman and threatening to harm a juvenile child, according to a police report.

• 2:57 p.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Christopher Irons, 28, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Dawn Miller, 45, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 2:38 p.m. Thursday, 200 block of South Willow Street, Lisa Davis, 26, Pomona, on a Shawnee County warrant.

Sheriff’s Department News

Incidents

• 8:32 a.m. Wednesday, 500 block of Thomas Road, a 40-year-old Pomona man called to report someone littering near the creek to the west of his property.

Thefts

• 6:19 p.m. Wednesday, 215 W. Franklin St., Pomona, a 46-year-old Pomona resident reported a bottle of Lucas upper cylinder lubricant, valued at $4.99, was stolen from Wil-Mart in Pomona.

• 9:54 p.m. Thursday, 2500 block of Shawnee Road, a 32-year-old Ottawa man reported someone entered his vehicle and barn and took several items.  Loss was estimated at more than $1,000.

Accidents

• 6:51 p.m. Thursday, K-68 and Idaho Road, a vehicle driven by Gary Branson, 68, Ottawa, was traveling west in the 1700 block of K-68 when it struck a deer. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

Incidents

• 12:23 p.m. Thursday, 900 block of South Cedar Street, Gloria Tyler, 76, Ottawa, was cited and released for a vicious animal after her canine bit a 16-year-old girl, according to a police report.

• 8:12 p.m. Thursday, 900 block of Lincoln Street, Mildred Smith, 58, Ottawa, reported her granddaughter, Destinee Kirch, 20, Ottawa, was missing.

Thefts

• 11:43 a.m. Wednesday, 900 block of South Walnut Street, a 48-year-old Osawatomie woman reported an unknown suspect stole her checks. The woman also reported an unknown suspect forged her checks at Kansas State Bank, 1314 S. Main St., and Amoco, 2305 S. Cedar St., according to police reports.

Accidents

• 5:37 p.m. Wednesday, 15th and Pin Oak streets, a vehicle driven by Jody Leach, 29, Williamsburg, struck a vehicle, waiting to turn onto Pin Oak Street, which was being driven by William Wilkins, 46, Ottawa.

• Wednesday: 500 block of East Sixth Street, lost or mislaid property report; 300 block of West Seventh Street, medical call; 200 block of Prairie Lane, theft report.

• Thursday: 600 block of Walnut Street, public assist; 300 block of Walnut Street, noise complaint; 400 block of Main Street, forgery report; 200 block of Pendleton Avenue, 911 hang-up.

Ottawa Fire Department

• 6:53 p.m. Monday, 708 S. Cherry St., unauthorized burning.

• 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, East 21st Terrace and South Princeton Street, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle wreck.

• Firefighters assisted with 15 medical calls Monday through Thursday.

Franklin County Fire Departments

• 2:02 p.m. Friday, West 15th Street and Eisenhower Avenue, Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison firefighters responded to a grass fire.

• 9:25 p.m. Friday, 1254 California Road, Williamsburg firefighters responded to a structure fire.

• 7:47 p.m. Saturday, 3216 Texas Road, Cutler firefighters responded to a grass fire.

• Firefighters responded to 15 medical calls Oct. 3 through Thursday.
