Franklin County Jail

Police Department Arrests

• 1:32 p.m. Wednesday, 700 block of South Tremont Avenue, Toni Quintanar, 43, Ottawa, on suspicion of battering a known 15-year-old Ottawa girl.

• 1:24 a.m. Thursday, I-35 milepost 183, David Nelson, 42, Oklahoma City, on suspicion of driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test. 

• 1:47 a.m. Thursday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., David Nelson, 42, Oklahoma City, on a City of Elwood, Kan., warrant.

• 4:55 p.m. Thursday, 1000 block of South Ash Street, Brian Franklin, 31, Ottawa, on suspicion of damaging property.

• 7:12 p.m. Thursday, 700 block of South Locust Street, Richard Moore, 35, on suspicion of criminal damage to property and a Franklin County warrant.

Incidents

• 8:52 a.m. Thursday, Ottawa University, 1001 S. Cedar St., a 50-year-old Lindsborg man reported damage to his vehicle by unknown suspects.

• 12:36 p.m. Thursday, 1200 block of South Main Street, damage to Franklin County-owned communications infrastructure was reported.

• 2:07 p.m. Thursday, Ottawa Police Department, 715 W. Second St., a 28-year-old Ottawa man reported the rape of two juvenile-age victims. The incident is under investigation.

• 2:12 a.m. Friday, 900 block of South Cedar Street, a 27-year-old Ottawa woman reported she was battered by a known 31-year-old Ottawa man.

Thefts

• 8:34 a.m. Wednesday, 500 block of South Elm Street, a 25-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole items. 

Accidents

• 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, 1200 block of South College Street, a vehicle driven by Floyd Jacob, 67, Ottawa, struck a parked vehicle owned by Ashlie Abbott, 42, Ottawa. Jacob was cited for leaving the scene, failure to report and improper turn, according to a police report.

• 3:15 Thursday, 800 block of West 11th Street, Christine Nichols, 17, Ottawa, was struck by a vehicle driven by Megan Howard, 17, Ottawa, causing minor injury, according to a police report.

• Wednesday: 300 block of Main Street, public assist; 700 block of Maple Street, suspicious activity. 

• Thursday: 400 block of Walnut Street, juvenile complaint; 200 block of Walnut Street, juvenile complaint; 400 block of Main Street, special assignment.

• 7:04 p.m. Monday, 1016 S, Locust St., unauthorized burning.

• 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, 835 N. Cherry St., authorized controlled burning.

• 1:41 p.m. Thursday, 1121 S. College St., investigated smoke odor.

• Firefighters assisted with 11 medical calls Monday through Thursday.

Franklin County Fire Departments

• 2:53 p.m. Thursday, Louisiana and Haskell roads, Ohio firefighters responded to a vehicle fire.

• Firefighters responded to six medical calls Monday through Thursday.
