Sheriff’s Department Arrests

• 8:09 a.m. Tuesday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Patrick Olsen, 26, Aliceville, Kan., on a Franklin County warrant.

• 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, 3200 block of I-35, Richard Collins, 28, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving while his license was revoked after being stopped for an inoperable license plate lamp, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 2:38 a.m. Wednesday, 2300 block of I-35, Williams James, 43, West Plains, Mo., on suspicion of driving while his license was suspended after being stopped for an inoperable license plate lamp, according to a sheriff’s report.

• 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, 1200 block of South Maple Street, Melanie Lewis, 31, Ottawa, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and no insurance after being stopped for a traffic violation, according to a police report.

• 9:59 a.m. Tuesday, 600 block of South Burroughs Street, Mallory Iniguez, 27, Wichita, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, 700 block of West Second Street, Drew Masingale, 24, Merriam, Kan., on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 3:18 p.m. Tuesday, Ottawa Middle School, 230 S. Ash St., a 13-year-old Ottawa boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana.

• 3:54 p.m. Tuesday, 1000 block of West Seventh Street, Donald Jones, 34, Ottawa, on a Franklin County warrant.

• 9:07 p.m. Tuesday, 800 block of South Poplar Street, Kenneth Whitacre, 18, Ottawa, on suspicion of possessing alcohol as a minor, transporting an open container and driving without a license after being stopped for a vehicle equipment violation, according to a police report.

Incidents

• 6:44 p.m. Tuesday, 2800 block of Tennessee Road, an 18-year-old Ottawa woman reported a past sex crime. The case is under investigation.

Thefts

• 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, 4400 block of Arkansas Road, an 81-year-old Pomona man reported an unknown suspect stole an ATV from his barn, as well as damaged another ATV.

Incidents

• 2:21 p.m. Tuesday, 1000 block of North Oak Street, a 15-year-old Ottawa girl reported she was in a previous sexual relationship with a 35-year-old Ottawa man. The case is under investigation.

Thefts

• 5:58 a.m. Tuesday, 800 block of Lincoln Street, a 36-year-old Ottawa woman reported an unknown suspect damaged a vehicle and stole items.

Accidents

• 5:53 p.m. Monday, Powhattan and North Cedar streets, a vehicle driven by Denise Barker, 59, Ottawa, struck a parked car owned by the City of Ottawa.

• 6:22 p.m. Monday, Eighth and Burroughs streets, a vehicle driven by Anna Markus, 18, Ottawa, struck a vehicle driven by Cody Hollon, 18, Ottawa. Markus was cited with failure to yield the right of way, and Hollon was arrested on suspicion of driving while his license was suspended, according to a police report.

Wellsville Police Department News

• Monday: 100 block of East Sixth Street, non-injury accident.

• Tuesday: I-35 and K-33, assist outside agency; 1000 block of Poplar Street, public assist.

• 10:11 a.m. Monday, 1001 E. Logan St., authorized controlled burning.

• 3:15 p.m. Monday, 1332 S. Mulberry St., authorized controlled burning.

• 6:37 p.m. Monday, 800 block of South Burroughs Street, responded to a motor vehicle wreck.

• Firefighters assisted with eight medical calls Monday and Tuesday.

Franklin County Fire Departments

• 2:03 p.m. Monday, Highway 59 and Ellis Road, Ohio firefighters responded to a grass fire.

• 3:18 p.m. Monday, 179 Nevada Road, Richmond firefighters responded to a grass fire.

• 1:54 p.m. Monday, Nebraska and Labette roads, Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison firefighters responded to a grass fire.
