Robert W. “Wally” Hart, Kansas City, Mo., and formerly of Ottawa, passed away Jan. 14, 2014.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Countryside Funeral Home, Humboldt, Kan., with Jesse Vanice officiating. Interment is set to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt. Family members plan to receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the Countryside Funeral Home.

He was born April 5, 1948, to Mary Kathryn (Montgomery) and Wallace L. Hart.

He graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1966.

He married Una L. VanNice April 30, 1967. They later divorced.

Wally managed Pence IGA in Ottawa for 20 years. He later spent many years working for Kansas City Power and Light as a cable splicer.

Survivors include his parents, Kate and Wally, Humboldt; a brother, John, Humboldt; daughter, Danielle and husband, Darryl, Las Vegas; son, Richard and wife, Kristen, Capistrano Beach, Calif.; grandchildren, Kathryn, K’lynn and Kandace, Las Vegas, and Peyton and Haven, Calif.; and nephews David and Joshua and their families, all of Humboldt.  

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Hart.

The family suggests memorials to the food pantry in Humboldt through Countryside Funeral Home, 908 Central, Humboldt KS 66748.
