Gary E. Kettler, 58, Williamsburg, Kan., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.

Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at the Faith Lutheran Church. Family members plan to meet with friends 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment is set for Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kan.

Gary was born Friday, June 24, 1955, in Paola, Kan., the son of Delton Kettler and Dorothy (Minden) Kettler.

He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1973.

He lived in Williamsburg since 1989, moving from Ottawa where he lived since 1972.

Gary was united in marriage with Sondra Frost Aug. 12, 1983, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives of their home after 30 years of marriage.

Other survivors include his two daughters, Jaclyn Kettler and fiancé, Clifton C. Jones, Houston, Texas, and Sarah Kettler and companion, Geoffrey Thomas, Ottawa; mother, Dorothy Kettler and step-father, Gary Briar, Ottawa; and brother, Larry Kettler and companion, Joyce Dodson, Osawatomie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delton Kettler.

Gary was a lifelong farmer in both livestock and crops. He also owned and operated his own trucking business, Kettler Trucking, for 15 years hauling feed and grain. He later worked as a carpenter for C.A.S. Construction and Midland Contractors.

He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and children, meeting with friends, farming, tractors, watching sports, and playing cards with his mom and friends.
