Joan Keim, 75, Ottawa, Kan., died Friday, March 29, 2013.
Cremation is planned. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
She was born Thursday, May 20, 1937, the daughter of Clair and Leta “Billie” (Clark) Bayless.
Joan attended school in rural Franklin County, and graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1955.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
Joan worked as a legal secretary for the Franklin and Osage County Attorney’s Office, as well as Bezek, Lowry and Hendrix Law Office, before retiring April 30, 2003.
She was united in marriage with Robert W. Keim Nov. 12, 1976. He survives of the home after nearly 37 years of marriage.
She previously was married to Arnold Dodd. They divorced.
She enjoyed auctions, going to the casinos, family dinners and being at home.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Dodd, Leavenworth, Ronald Dodd, Emporia, and William Keim, Ottawa; daughter, Diana Stafford, Topeka; two stepsons, David R. Keim, Florida, and Tony Keim and his wife, Beth, Ottawa; stepdaughter, Cindy Johnson, Ottawa; two sisters, Joyce Kahler, Colorado, and Judy Rohrer, Topeka; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Bonnie Bayless.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Billie Bayless; and grandparents.
