GERALDINE ‘JERRY’ JOHNSON
Geraldine “Jerry” Johnson, 84, Ottawa, Kan., died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society of Olathe, Kan.
Funeral services are planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. The casket will remain closed. Family will meet with friends 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. before the service. Interment is planned for Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kan.
She was born Saturday, Dec. 29, 1928, in Princeton, Kan., the daughter of Ernest “E.W.” and Eva Jenny (Valentine) Warner.
Jerry lived most of her life in Ottawa. She lived in Topeka, Kan., from 1977 to 1988, at which time she moved back to Ottawa.
She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1947.
Jerry was united in marriage with Clyde O. Johnson June 13, 1947, in Ottawa. They later divorced.
She was a lifelong homemaker.
She enjoyed flowers and traveling to the Ozarks. Her favorite activities included spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the One to Six Club and the Intersay Club, both of Ottawa.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Shackelford, Farmersville, Calif., Karen “Elaine” Dryden and her husband, Steve, Ottawa, and Connie Billbe and her husband, Kevin, Cookeville, Tenn.; sister, Margie Conner, Walnut Creek, Calif.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Circle and her husband, Jason, Ottawa, Kristi Dryden, Ottawa, Brett Hogue and his wife, Suzy, New Berlin, Wis., Tiffany Kelso and her husband, Chad, Cookeville, Tenn., and Jason Shackelford, California; five great-grandchildren; and a niece, Cheryl Conner, Walnut Creek, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean Schultz; two grandsons, Michael and Derick Dryden; and two great-grandchildren, Sadye Circle and LillieAnna Kelso.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Good Samaritan Society of Olathe-The Physical Therapy Garden through Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
