RONALD G. CADE

Ronald G. Cade, 87, Ottawa, Kan., passed away June 14, 2013, at his home.

A mass is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. Interment is expected to follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Emerald. A rosary is to be said at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Family plan to meet with friends immediately following the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Pomona, Kan., the son of Charles William Cade and Charlotte (Hemple) Cade.

Ronald was lifelong Franklin County resident, with the exception of his military service years, growing up in Pomona and moving to Ottawa in 1963, after his military service.

Ron was a 1943 graduate of Pomona High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served his country from 1943 to 1963, attaining the rank of E-7 Gunnery Sergeant. After retiring from his military service, he worked at the General Motors warehouse in Kansas City, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5901, both of Ottawa.

Ron was united in marriage to Florence Harrington Nov. 17, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. She survives of their home.

Other survivors include three sons, C.W. Cade and his wife, Mary, Lawrence, Kan., Edward C. Cade and his wife, Leslie, Cleveland, Ohio, and Christopher Ian Cade, Olathe, Kan.; a daughter, Mary Allen and her husband, Gary, Gladstone, Mo.; two grandsons, Matthew Cade and Adrian Cade, both of Lawrence; two granddaughters, Kate Cade and Alex Cade, both of Cleveland; and step-grandson, Zach Solotko, Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart School through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa KS 66067.
