She was employed by the Graham School, Anderson Motor Co. and Garnett Savings and Loan.

A member of the Richmond United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, she held offices in both groups.

She was a member of Four Winds Chapter of D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) and served as Regent and Treasurer.
