Leona M. Cauffman, 96, Quenemo, Kan., died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the Community Revival Center Church. Inurnment is planned at Oak Hill Cemetery, Quenemo, Kan.

She was born Thursday, May 10, 1917, in Waverly, Kan., the daughter of Simon and Flora (Richey) North.

She has been a Quenemo resident for most of her life.

Leona graduated from Fredonia High School with the class of 1935.

She was a homemaker and ran a second-hand business.

She was a member of the Community Revival Center Church.

Leona was united in marriage with Melvin Watkins in 1936 in Fredonia, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1973.

Leona was united in marriage with Fred H. Waldroop May 6, 1974, in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Leona was united in marriage with Robert F. Cauffman June 29, 1998, in Enid, Okla. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her five children, Reba Aquino, Princeton, Raymond Watkins, Ottawa, Melvin Watkins, Winfield, Ala., Carolyn Willingham, Quenemo, and Steve Watkins, Quenemo; 25 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Watkins; second husband, Fred H. Waldroop; four sons, Clifford, Carl, Perry and Floyd Watkins; and parents, Simon and Flora North.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leona Cauffman Memorial Fund through Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
