Emanuel W. Dandreo, 84, Swampscott, Mass., died Thursday, July 25, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services are complete.

He was the husband of the late Janet M. (Owens) Dandreo, and the son of the late Donato and Mary (Morizzo) Dandreo.

Born and raised in Swampscott, Emanuel lived in Swampscott all his life.

A graduate of Swampscott High School, Class of 1946, he was a head custodian for the Town of Swampscott Schools. He worked at the Machon School and the Junior High School where he retired from in 1997, after 30 years of service. He enjoyed all the students who went through the school system. He previously worked at Cushman’s Bakery as a baker.

He enjoyed gardening, house projects and watching westerns and cowboy movies. He also liked to watch the Patriots. Emanuel was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War.

Survivors include his two sons, Daniel Dandreo and his wife, Julie, Ottawa, Kan., and David Dandreo and his partner, Dawn Marsella, Swampscott; a daughter, Michele Holton and her husband, Michael, Hooksett, N.H.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Daniel and Marissa Dandreo; a brother, Vincent “Jim” Dandreo and his wife, Peggy, Lynn; a sister, Maryann Clemens and her husband Ralph, Boxford; a sister-in-law, Joan Dandreo, Swampscott; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gail and Joseph Faia.

Emanuel was the brother of the late Donato “Dan” Dandreo; and Joseph Dandreo and his wife, the late Betty Dandreo.
