Nathalee J. “Nae” Tucker, 86, Ottawa, Kan., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Ottawa Retirement Village.

Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Tucker 1 p.m. Friday to the service hour at Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family plans to meet with friends 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Interment is set for Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.

Nathalee was born Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1926, in Ottawa, the daughter of Merrill and Minnie (Shawver) Bliss.

A lifelong Franklin County resident, Nathalee lived in Ottawa since 1960, moving from Princeton.

She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1944.

Nathalee was a devoted homemaker. She worked during the 1950s as an operator for Southwestern Bell.

She was a member of the North Baptist Church in Ottawa.

Nathalee was united in marriage with Harry Milton Tucker May 4, 1956, in Williamsburg, Kan. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2005.

Survivors include her two sons, Joe Tucker and wife, Linda, and Jay Tucker and wife, Kim, all of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Aaron Nichols and wife, Lindsay, Jessica Callaghan and husband, Brett, Amanda Brown and husband, Drew, Corey Tucker, Katie Wilkerson and Chris Hunziker; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Lane Wilkerson, William Callaghan, and Tucker Brown; and sister, Shirley Barnes, Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Lyle and Warren Bliss; and sister, Marjorie Shoemaker.

The family suggests memorial contributions to North Baptist Church through Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067, or, as a recipient of blood on numerous occasions, Mrs. Tucker would have encouraged friends to give blood in her memory.
