Eric Jason Carlisle, 47, Webster City, Iowa, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, in Hamilton County, Iowa.

He was cremated. A celebration of life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the Wellsville Baptist Church. Family members plan to meet with friends at 10 a.m. Interment of cremains will precede services.

Eric Jason Carlisle was born Feb. 12, 1966, in Alexandria, Va., the son of Jay Chapman and Elnore Elizabeth (Huyser) Carlisle.

He grew up in Wellsville, attending school from kindergarten on, and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1985.

Eric was a concrete worker all his adult life. He was a driver and pump operator and loved working outdoors.

Eric married Kelley L. Taylor November 1995 at the Wellsville Baptist Church. They later divorced. Together they had two children, Brooke Elizabeth and Bret Chapman. They survive with their mother in Gardner.

“Big E,” as he was known to his friends, was an avid lover of the outdoors. He was loved by his friends and family and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and enjoyed his presence in their lives.

Other survivors include his significant other, Ginny Knight, and her daughter, of their home, Webster City, Iowa; mother, Elnore Carlisle, Olathe; sister and brother-in-law, Laurie and Randy Cox, Wichita; brother, Marc Carlisle, Overland Park; sister and brother-in-law, Cara and Travis Rhoades, Olathe; uncle and aunt, Walter and Susan Heyser, Seattle; five nieces; one nephew; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eric Carlisle Memorial Fund for the benefit of his children’s education through Wilson’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 486, Wellsville KS 66092.
