Ruby Estella (Bittenbender) Reeves, 88, Ottawa, died Oct. 21, 2013, at home.

Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial is to follow at Hope Cemetery, Ottawa.

Visitation is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Chippewa Hills, Franklin County, Kan., the daughter of Harry Bittenbender and Grace Caleb Bittenbender.

She was a lifelong Ottawa, Kan., resident and was a graduate of Haskell High School.

Ruby was a seamstress with H.D. Lee for more than 30 years. She also served with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Ruby was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ottawa.

Ruby was united in marriage with J.B. Reeves Nov. 12, 1942, in Ottawa. They shared 44 years of loving marriage together. J.B. preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1987.

Ruby also was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, J.B. Reeves Jr.; three sisters, Edith Johnston, Cornelia Johnson and Wanda Mundy; three brothers, Alfred Bittenbender, Sherman Bittenbender and Joe Bittendender; and two great-grandchildren, Mark Burns and Tiffany Burns.

Survivors include a sister, Josie Glaze and her husband, Alvie; a brother, Roscoe (Jack) Bittenbender and his wife, Opal; two sons, Clifford Reeves and his girlfriend, Sharon, and Harry Reeves and his wife, Vicki; two daughters, Darlene Foster and her husband, Delbert, and Janice Young and her husband, Clinton; a daughter-in-law, Leslie Reeves; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Assembly of God Church or Vitas Hospice through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 14, Ottawa KS 66067.
