Ray W. Potter, 88, Ottawa, Kan., passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Ottawa Retirement Village.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Potter 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, and before services Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment is set for Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kan.

Ray was born Saturday, Aug. 15, 1925, in Ottawa, Kan., the son of William Edgar and Elva Mae (Seneff) Potter.

Ray was a lifelong Ottawa resident.

He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1943.

Ray was united in marriage with Orpha Hoover May 12, 1946, in Ottawa. She survives of their home.

Survivors also include his two sons, David Potter, Ottawa, and Randy Potter and wife, Carla, Topeka; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Emma Arnold, Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Owen Potter; and four sisters, Edith Landes, Hazel Mock, Vera Ferguson and Lucille Elliott.

Ray worked for Ottawa Coop from 1965 to retirement in 1989. He handled feed delivery and the retail store. He also was a lifelong farmer, farming livestock and crops.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
