Dorothy Ann Viets, 73, Edwardsville, Kan., formerly of Cole Camp, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Golden Living Center Kaw River, Edwardsville, Kan.

Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, Mo., with  Pastor Stephen Zeller officiating. Burial is set for St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cole Camp, Mo. The family plans to receive friends 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at the church.

She was born Aug. 5, 1940, at Cole Camp, Mo., a daughter of William Henry and Elsie Anna (Harms) Viets.

She was baptized on Aug. 25, 1940, by Pastor H. Renz and confirmed April 3, 1955, by Pastor E. H. Kuhlman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, Mo.

She grew up in Cole Camp, where she attended grade school and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

In 1986, she moved to Ottawa, Kan., and worked at the sheltered workshop.

In 2005, she moved to Wellsville, Kan., and later, in 2008, she entered the Golden Living Center Kaw River in Edwardsville, Kan.

She enjoyed playing bingo and doing embroidery.

Survivors include one sister, Vera Lowe, Bonner Springs, Kan.; and one nephew, Paul R. Lowe, Topeka, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elsie Viets; and two brothers, Eric Viets and Harvey Viets.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund through the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp MO 65325.
