Charles F. Hendrickson, 79, Ottawa, Kan., died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at his residence in Ottawa.

Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.

He was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Seminole, Okla., the son of Floyd Williams and Bonnie (Jewel) Williams.

Charles graduated from Eureka (Kan.) High School in 1951. He attended Emporia State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in business.

Charles moved to the Ottawa community in 1962.

Charles had a long and rewarding sales career. He retired in 2001 from Star Signs in Kansas City, Kan., where he worked as a sales executive after a 45-year career.

He was united in marriage to Janet Hawthorne Aug. 23, 1953, in Eureka, Kan.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, and also was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 803, Ottawa.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and sister, Beverly Stuart.

Survivors include a son, Randy Hendrickson, Ottawa; daughters, Debi Reese and Wendy Hutchison, Ottawa; grandchildren, Tanner Hendrickson, Brooke Smith, Kristen Hendrickson and Jamie Hutchison, Ottawa, as well as granddaughter, Cori Brown, and great-granddaughter, Arrington Allen, Olathe, Kan.; and brother, Jim Williams, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Franklin County Cancer Foundation through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa KS 66067.
