Ridiculous tax move

3/13/2013

I never heard of House Bill 2117, which cut off the food sales tax and the property tax refund tax for renters in 2012.

Of all the taxes we as citizens of Kansas have to pay, I think this is a slap in the face to all Kansas taxpayers.

As if this state doesn’t get enough money through all the various taxes we pay, to cut off the food sales refund and homestead property tax is ridiculous. We as citizens need to let our state senators know that this idea stinks to high heaven and should let them know who they are working for.

I don’t know how much the state paid for the U.S. 59 project between Ottawa and Lawrence, but you can bet it was a bundle. And as I drive that road, I see very little traffic to substantiate the project.
