Manufacturers to blame on gun checks

Ninety percent of Americans and 85 percent of National Rifle Association members supported background checks for the 40 percent of gun buyers who purchase guns without a background check at gun shows and over the Internet. Many criminals and mentally deranged people buy their guns this way.

Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Manufacturer’s Association prevented this sensible legislation from being passed in the U.S. Senate.
