Bruce named second team All-American

Ottawa University junior defensive lineman Deron Bruce was named to the 2013 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA)-NAIA All-America second team. Twenty-five student-athletes were selected for the top two teams.

Bruce led the Braves to a fifth straight playoff appearance. He was a first team BSN NAIA All-American and a first team all-KCAC. He was selected the KCAC Defensive Player of the Year and is a finalist for the Cliff Harris Small College Defensive Player of the Year.

Bruce ranked first in the NAIA in fumbles forced per game (0.5), first in total tackles for loss (28.5), first in tackles for loss per game (2.4), fifth in sacks per game (1.1), fifth in total sacks (13), and 46th in tackles per game (8.4).
