Eagles cruise past Maranatha

WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville High School boys basketball team jumped all over Maranatha Academy Tuesday in Wellsville.

The Eagles rolled to a 25-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 73-43 victory.

The Eagles rolled to a 25-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 73-43 victory.

Senior Carter Mann spearheaded the early run with 10 points in the first quarter. He finished with 15.

Wellsville led 47-25 at halftime as Maranatha scored 23 points in the second quarter.

Maranatha scored 18 points in the second half.

The Eagles tossed in five treys with three by Mann. Wellsville was a cool 12 of 23 from the line.

There were four players in double figures and one with nine.

Cole Silsby led the Eagles with 17 points.

Luke Meyer finished with 11. Seth Breithaupt scored all 10 points in the first half.

Wellsville (6-1) plays Friday at home against Prairie View.
