West Franklin adjusts well

POMONA — Matt Gray put up 19 points and the Falcons soared to a 58-43 win over Chase County Friday night at home. Will Duda followed Gray with 11 points for West Franklin, and head coach James Spencer applauded his squad on good defensive play.

“We were up six at the half,” Spencer said. “We were playing hard and playing good defense. [Chase County] played a lot of things that we hadn’t seen before, and the kids adjusted well.”

West Franklin (5-3) will play on the road Tuesday at Osage City. Spencer said that his team will be playing one of the better teams in the league.

“Obviously next week is tough for us,” he said. “[Osage City] is going to be well-coached. We have to do the little things right to be successful.”
