Falcon boys fall at home

POMONA ­— The Falcons couldn’t pull out the home win Friday, falling to Lyndon 62-54.

“[The] players played extremely hard,” West Franklin head coach James Spencer said. “We just let them go on too big of a run at the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth.  We need to clean up some little things, and we’ll be where we need to be.”

Will Duda led the team with 16 points.

West Franklin’s next game tips off at 3 p.m. Monday in Emporia against Chase County in the opening round of the Flint Hills League tournament.

Osawatomie 53, Wellsville 42

WELLSVILLE ­— The Eagles could not hang on in overtime Friday night, falling to Osawatomie 53-42.

The team was outscored 14-3 in the extra period.

Carter Mann led the Eagles with 15 points.

Wellsville plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Bishop Ward in the opening round of the Baldwin Invitational in Baldwin City.
