Central Heights girls fall in OT

GARNETT — It has been one of those seasons for the Central Heights High School girls basketball team. Many of its games have came down to one possession and unfortunately the Vikings have been on the wrong end of the score more times than not.

Anderson County nipped Central Heights, 37-36 in overtime, Tuesday, in Garnett.

Anderson County nipped Central Heights, 37-36 in overtime, Tuesday, in Garnett.

“It was a very close and fun game, but it was not the finish we wanted,” Central Heights coach Scott Lane said. “Kenzie Hayward hit a big three at the end of regulation to send it to overtime. We just couldn’t convert several chances under the basket in overtime.”

Whitney Kraus led the Vikings with 11 points.

Central Heights plays Friday at Osawatomie.

Anderson County (37) — Rockers 7, Porter 7, McCullough 9, Scheckel 10, Kueser 4.

Central Heights (36) — Erhart 8, Kraus 11, Markley 3, Meyer 6, Hayward 8.

West Franklin 48, Hartford 30

HARTFORD — West Franklin jumped to a 10-0 lead and never looked back in a 48-30 victory over Hartford Monday in Hartford.

“We came out did a good job of controlling the flow,” Kyle Conley said. “We played sharp.

“We executed in the half court. We did a good job of speeding them up.”

Macy Flory paced the Falcons with 16 points.

West Franklin (8-9) plays at home today against Burlingame.
