OU's Taylor receives KCAC honors

Ottawa University softball player Savannah Taylor has been named Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week.

Taylor, a freshman outfielder from Paola, hit .625 and slugged 1.875 in two games against Washburn University last week.

Taylor, a freshman outfielder from Paola, hit .625 and slugged 1.875 in two games against Washburn University last week.

Taylor went 3-for-4 from the plate with six runs batted in and scored three runs off three home runs in the first game of a doubleheader. She led Ottawa to a 13-7 victory.

She tallied two hits and scored one run in the second game.

Taylor’s six RBI in the opener against Washburn ties her for second in the school record book for RBIs in a single game.

Ottawa played three games Friday in the Friends Tournament in Wichita.
