OU golfers take second

LAWRENCE — The Ottawa University men’s golf team finished second at the Ottawa University Spring Invitational at Lawrence’s Eagle Bend Golf Course. The tourney was on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Braves shot a two day total of 657 (325, 332). Independence Community College won the event with a two round total of 644.

Ottawa was led by Chris Douglas’ third-place finish. He shot a 81 and a 80 for a total of 161.

Tyler Kopatich took fourth at 164. Gabe Vlasic placed fifth with a 165. Connor Gallentine finished with a 170. Others were Tanner Crawford, 174; Kenneth Sampsell, 180; Spencer Ellsperman, 181; and Robert Utter, 194.

Ottawa plays Monday and Tuesday in Winfield at the Southwestern College Tournament.
