Rose selected NAIA All-American

Ottawa University senior Julian Rose has been named to an NAIA All-American team with his honorable mention selection.

Rose is the Braves’ first men’s basketball All-American since David Birch and Phil McClintock earned the honor in 2008-09.

Rose averaged 19.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game on his way to earning first team all-conference honors. He shot 44.1 percent from the floor, 35.4 percent from behind the three-point line and 82 percent from the free-throw line.

Rose tallied 50 assists and scored 570 points. He finished the season ranked 30th in NAIA Division II in points per game (19.8), 38th in free throw percentage (.820), 41st in total points scored (575) and 44th in defensive rebounds per game (5.4).

He helped lead the Braves to a 14-15 record. Ottawa fell to Sterling in the conference tournament quarterfinals.
