Braves baseball sweeps MACU

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Ottawa University baseball team got back on the winning track Tuesday with a sweep of MidAmerica Christian University in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Braves won 8-1 and 9-5.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Ottawa University baseball team got back on the winning track Tuesday with a sweep of MidAmerica Christian University in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Braves won 8-1 and 9-5.

Ottawa jumped all over MidAmerica with five runs in the top of the second inning and increased the lead to 8-0 after four innings.

The Braves had six hits. Alejandro Villegas led Ottawa with three RBIs.

Jacob Loucks earned the victory. He pitched two innings with three strikeouts.

In game two, Ottawa jumped out to the lead with four runs in the top of the first inning.

The Braves added three runs in the top of the third inning, taking a 7-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth, Ottawa pushed two more runs across and increased the lead to 9-1.

Greg Wisner led the Braves with three hits. Nick Deichler drove home three runs.

Villegas had two hits, scored twice and had two RBIs.

Bret Stratton picked up the victory. He pitched four innings. He had three strikeouts and allowed three hits.

Ottawa (8-13) returns to conference play 1 p.m. today at Tabor College in Hillsboro.
