Wellsville rolled to 10-0 and 13-2 wins over Prairie View.

“I was extremely pleased with the way our girls came out and played, especially since we had been out on the field only one time going into the game,” Wellsville coach Chris Rose said. “Prairie View beat us twice last year so our girls were really focused and we executed our game plan on offense exactly how we wanted to.

“We were able to control their defense and put an extreme amount of pressure on their defense by executing slaps, steals, bunts and we got a lot of production by the middle part of our lineup which allowed us to score a lot of runs in bunches.”

Raegan Beckley tossed a no-hitter in the opener.

Catcher Ashley Ebeck threw out four base stealers. Erica McTaggart had five RBIs in the doubleheader.

West Franklin

POMONA — The West Franklin High School softball team was swept Tuesday by Lyndon in Pomona. The Falcons fell 14-9 and 11-1.

Bailey Shaffer had three hits. Charley Fine, Brittney Crump and Shelbi Allen had two hits each. Allen had two RBIs.

“Micayla Campfield pitched a great game in the first game but we had too many errors to get the win for her,” Falcon coach Michelle Bowman said. “Too many errors also contributed to the loss in the second game.”
