OHS golfers finish fourth

GARDNER — The Ottawa High School golf team had two players in the top 10 and finished fourth as team Monday in the Gardner Invitational.

Ottawa shot a 328. Parker Olmstead and Trey Rich were ninth and 10th and both shot a 79.

“It was a good start to the golf season,” Ottawa coach Cliff McCullough said. “We left some strokes out on the course so we know there is room for improvement. I know the guys were a little disappointed we didn’t medal in the team score but we are right there with some of the better teams in our area.

“We have plenty of time to get where we want to be. We need to spend more time on the practice green. We had way too many putts.”

Quentin Blaue was 17th with an 82. Andrew Soph took 27th at 88. Patrick Conroy was 40th with a 95.
