WF bats silent in losses

OSAGE CITY — The West Franklin High School baseball team had too many defensive lapses and could not make it up on offense in losses Thursday to Osage City.

The Indians bested the Falcons, 8-2 and 13-3, in Osage City.

OSAGE CITY — The West Franklin High School baseball team had too many defensive lapses and could not make it up on offense in losses Thursday to Osage City.

The Indians bested the Falcons, 8-2 and 13-3, in Osage City.

“We had too many errors,” West Franklin coach Danny Homer said. “It was a defensive struggle.

“We could not hit the ball. It should help our team refocus.”

West Franklin (2-2) plays Monday at home against Central Heights.

Softball

The Falcon softball team fell 11-0 and 10-0. West Franklin had one hit in each game.

“We could not hit the ball and get anything going offensively,” West Franklin coach Michelle Haupt said.

Brittany Shaffer had the only hit in the first game.

Brittany Crump singled in the nightcap.
