Ottawa women net ace

WINFIELD — The Ottawa University women’s golf team finished third Tuesday at the South Central Kansas Spring Invitational at the Winfield Country Club.

Ottawa shot a 756, shooting 378 in both rounds.

Kaitlynn Walker hit the program’s second hole-in-one at the No. 6 (145 yards) with a five iron.

Erin Shriver paced Ottawa in seventh with a 183. Amy Weilert tied for eighth, shooting a 184.

Mallory Kleoppel tied for 15th with a 194. Sara Housman tied for 20th with a 200. Walker was 23rd at 204.

The women play in the first Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament, April 27-29, at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Great Bend.

Men

The Braves finished fourth with a 648.

Gabe Vlasic paced Ottawa as he tied for fifth with a 159.

Michael Civitate tied for eighth, shooting a 160.

Hunter Earnhart tied for 16th with a 163.

Freshman Austin Blaue tied for 23rd at 166. Spencer Ellsperman finished 61st at 192.

Ottawa plays Monday in the KCAC tourney at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City.
