Wellsville softball rolls

GARNETT — The Wellsville High School softball team rolled to run-rule wins 15-1 and 13-3 Tuesday over Anderson County in Garnett.

“It was a good night,” Wellsville coach Chris Rose said. “We played pretty sound. We hit well.”

GARNETT — The Wellsville High School softball team rolled to run-rule wins 15-1 and 13-3 Tuesday over Anderson County in Garnett.

Junior Ashley Sparks paced the offense. In the first game, she was 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and a double.

Raegan Beckley, the winning pitcher, had two hits with four RBIs.

Moriah Kayhill had two RBIs. Justine Dougan and Ashley Ebeck had a hit.

Wellsville scored four runs in three of the innings.

The Eagles needed six innings to win the nightcap.

Rose said the Eagles fought through the slowness of the game.

Kaylynn Peacock, the winning pitcher, went 3-for-4. Sparks had three RBIs.

Beckley and Kayhill had two hits each. Ebeck finished with three RBIs. Lauren McDaniel had a hit.

Wellsville (8-0, 6-0) plays Thursday at Louisburg.
