BURLINGTON — It was a record-setting day Tuesday for the West Franklin High School track athletes in the Waverley meet at Burlington.

Three school records were set and several personal-bests in the meet.

“We had some great performances Tuesday and a lot of team PR’s,” West Franklin coach Susan Zentz said. “Our kids are working hard and continue to improve.”

Sophomore Megan Ecord broke the school record in the 800-meter race, which was set by Ashley McClain in 2009.

Junior Cody Webb tied the triple jump mark of Trey Wadkins, set in 2009.

Senior Josh Napper broke his own mark set last year in the 400.

“Megan Ecord achieved one of her season goals — to break the 800 record,” Zentz said. “She ran with some great competition and also ran a great opening leg in the 3,200 relay.

“Napper ran the 400 open for the first time this season, breaking his own school record in the process. It’s a tough race but could develop into his best event. Cody Webb had a great day with three PR’s in his individual events.”

The Falcon boys finished third with 58 points.
