WF baseball rips Herington twice

HERINGTON — The West Franklin High School baseball team knows what is in front of the Falcons — three tough doubleheaders.

The Falcons feel good where they are at after Friday’s sweep of Herington. West Franklin improved to 8-2 with a 10-0 win in five innings and a 12-1 victory.

The Falcons feel good where they are at after Friday’s sweep of Herington. West Franklin improved to 8-2 with a 10-0 win in five innings and a 12-1 victory.

“We got the toughest part of our schedule coming up,” West Franklin coach Danny Homer said. “We are starting to hit the ball a lot better. We have good pitching.”

Emerson Reece gave up two hits in three innings of the opener.

Trent Worley went the other two innings.

Oaklee Homer is dialed in at the plate. He had six RBIs in the doubleheader, including a home run in the opener.

Tate Jackson went three innings in the nightcap with five strikeouts. Homer tossed the final four frames.

West Franklin scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Will Duda had three RBIs in the second game.

Homer: HR, 3 RBIs.

Worley: RBI.

Duda: RBI.

Altic: RBI.

Peugeot: RBI.

Game 2

Homer: 2B, 3 RBIs.

Duda: 3 RBIs.

Worley: RBI.

Reece: RBI.

Jackson: RBI.
