LOUISBURG — The cold and wind were big headaches for the high school golfers Monday at the Louisburg Invitational.

Ottawa finished third with a 343 behind Christ Prep (336) and Paola (339).

“The cool and windy conditions had a major impact on scores,” Ottawa coach Cliff McCullough said.

“The winning score was a 78, so everyone else shot in the 80s.”

Ottawa was paced by junior Quentin Blaue’s season-best 82, which placed him fifth.

Freshman Isaac McCullough finished 10th with an 85.

“It was good to see Quentin medal,” McCullough said.

“Hopefully that will give him some confidence going forward with only three tournament’s left.”

The other Cyclone scores were Parker Olmsted, 88; Trey Rich, 88; Andrew Soph, 89, and Patrick Conroy, 91.

Ottawa plays Friday in the Frontier League tourney at Sycamore Ridge in Spring Hill.

The Ottawa Invitational is Monday at GreatLife Golf.
