OSAGE CITY — The Vikings saw their season end Monday with a 9-4 loss to Osage City in the first round of regional play in Osage City.

“It was not a good year record-wise for us, but the boys kept their composure the whole year and played with class no matter what,” Central Heights coach Jason Brown said.

“That says a lot about their character as young men. I am proud of them. It was an honor to coach them.”

Coby Robertson started on the mound and struggled getting outs. Osage City scored seven runs in the first two innings.

“Coby has been our best pitcher all year, he was just off,” Brown said.

Tristan Davis came in and gave Central Heights a chance to rally. He gave up two runs.

“He did an excellent job,” Brown said. “He did exactly what we needed a senior to do to give us a chance.”

Merrick Brown had two hits, including a double. Ethan Shields had two hits and two RBIs.

Central Heights finished at 5-16.
