Shaffer shines in New York

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Former Ottawa High School all-state baseball player Kaden Shaffer (Fort Scott CC) paced a 17-hit attack Tuesday as Sherrill’s Silversmiths pounded the Syracuse Salt Cats, 14-3, in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at Onondaga Community College.

Shaffer went 5-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. His two-out double in the first inning got the Smitties rolling. Shaffer singled and scored in the third inning.
