Lions tame Elks in ORC action

The Lions defeated the Elks 15-7 Monday in Ottawa Recreation Commission league play at Harvey M. Drake Field.

Driestin Aho was the winning pitcher for the Lions, coming in as relief, and pitched two innings without giving up a run. He had one strikeout.

Thomas Starr threw two innings and had one strikeout. John Nash threw one inning and had two strikeouts.

The Elks’ Chandler Bloomer threw all six innings for the Elks and had six strikeouts.

The Lions were lead in hitting by John Nash with three hits, three RBIs and a run scored.

Owen Lamar had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Brock Huddlestun had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Peyton Funk had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Brandon Carlson had a hit and two RBIs. Koby Becker had a hit and a run scored. Derrek Ferguson had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Trenton Ferguson had a hit and two runs scored. Aho had a hit and an RBI. Thomas Starr had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Colson Bien also had two runs scored.

The Elks were lead by Drew Bones with two hits and two RBIs. Tyler Desilvia had two hits and two RBIs. Kaleb Shaffer had a hit and an RBI. Chandler Bloomer had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Mathew Rodina had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Ryan Haner, Demarco Dydell, Byron Fangman and Dawson Kaub all scored runs for the Elks.

The Lions’ Carlson and Starr both had highlight-real diving catches for the Lions, Mark Huddlestun said.
