OHS practices begin Monday

The Ottawa High School fall athletic practices begin Monday with all practices taking place at OHS with the exception of tennis and soccer.

Tennis will practice at the Forest Park tennis courts. Soccer practices at the fields at the corner of North Sycamore and East North Streets.

Adjustment to the practice schedule will be made if weather conditions warrant a change to the regular practice times.

Prior to the first practice, all student-athletes must have a completed KSHSAA physical form and KSHSAA concussion awareness form on file with the OHS activities department.  

Forms will be available at enrollment and http://www.usd290.org/ohs/index/index.html  

Also, physical forms may be found on the KSHSAA website at www.kshsaa.org

The physical form is located on the right side of the page under the Sports Medicine & Safety link.  

Football

    The football team will have two practices a day for the first week.

Equipment checkout will be Thursday. The seniors check out at 4 p.m. followed by juniors, 4:30 p.m., sophomores and freshman, 5 p.m.

Practice times are 6 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Volleyball

Tryouts will be Monday and Tuesday. Volleyball will have two practices a day for the first week.

Practices are at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. These are mandatory tryout times.

Soccer

Boys soccer will have two practices a day for the first week. Practices will be 6:15 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Cross Country

The boys and girls cross country teams will have two practices a day for the first week at 6:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Tennis

A girls tennis informational meeting will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the Cyclone Room. Practices will be at 4 p.m. at the Forest Park courts.
