OU soccer falls to Benedictine

ATCHISON — It was a rough beginning to the season for the Ottawa University women’s soccer team.

The Lady Braves fell 3-0 to No. 19 Benedictine Ravens Monday in the season opener.

The Lady Braves fell 3-0 to No. 19 Benedictine Ravens Monday in the season opener.         

Ottawa was outshot 22-4.

Benedictine scored all three goals a four-minute span late in the match.

Ottawa keeper Samantha Gitmed had six saves in her first collegiate contest.

The Lady Braves (0-1-0) play 2 p.m. Friday at Avila.
