Cyclone spikers sweep OZ field

OSAWATOMIE — The Ottawa High School volleyball team Thursday swept through the Osawatomie Quadrangular.

Ottawa defeated Spring Hill (25-23, 25-22), Piper (25-21, 25-20) and Osawatomie (25-12, 25-14).

Ottawa defeated Spring Hill (25-23, 25-22), Piper (25-21, 25-20) and Osawatomie (25-12, 25-14).

“The girls played consistent throughout the night,” Ottawa coach Laura Jeannin said. “They really came together and played as a team.  They were much more relaxed and the high level of effort given led to the team’s ability to overcome tough moments in the matches.”

Ottawa (7-4) plays 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against De Soto.

The junior varsity won two of three matches. Ottawa defeated Osawatomie (25-15, 24-26, 15-4) and Spring Hill (25-23, 24-26, 15-9). Ottawa fell to Piper (25-14, 25-20).

Ottawa (4-6) plays today at the Highland Park Tournament.

The freshman swept all three matches. Ottawa beat Spring Hill (25-18, 27-25), Piper (25-22, 25-23) and Osawatomie (23-25, 25-6, 15-5).
