OU volleyball blisters Bethany

The Ottawa University volleyball team opened the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference with its 22nd straight KCAC win Wednesday at Wilson Field House.

Ottawa romped to a 3-0 win over Bethany. Ottawa won 25-16, 25-17, 25-11. Ottawa held Bethany to .061 hitting percentage.

Ottawa had a balanced attack with four hitters having seven or more kills. Ottawa hit .321 with 40 kills on 81 attempts.

Nicole Gingery and Allie Arnold led Ottawa with eight kills each. Arnold hit a blistering .500 and Gingery was at .615. Taylor Bridge and Sandra Foster tallied seven kills apiece and Becca Colson had four.

Christa Hill led Ottawa with 18 assists. Lindsey Widen finished with 16.

The Lady Braves (4-2, 1-0) plays today in the MidAmerica Nazarene Invitational. Ottawa plays 10 a.m. today against No. 5 MidAmerica Nazarene University and noon against No. 8 Midland University.
