Lady Braves VB falls to ranked teams

OLATHE ­— The Ottawa University volleyball team lost all four matches this weekend in the MidAmerica Nazarene University Invitational.

Ottawa lost to three nationally-ranked teams. On Friday, Ottawa fell to No. 11 Park (25-19, 25-11, 25-19). Ottawa then lost to Baker (25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 25-17).

Ottawa lost to three nationally-ranked teams. On Friday, Ottawa fell to No. 11 Park (25-19, 25-11, 25-19). Ottawa then lost to Baker (25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 25-17).

Park hit .356. The Lady Braves struggled with their attack. Ottawa tallied 24 kills but had 19 errors in 98 attempts for a .051 hitting percentage. Becca Colson and Taylor Bridge led Ottawa with six kills apiece.

On Saturday, Ottawa fell to No. 5 MidAmerica (25-21, 25-17, 25-16) and No. 8 Midland (25-23, 25-17, 25-18). Nicole Gingery had six kills against MidAmerica Nazarene. Christa Hill led Ottawa with 12 assists and Mohsani Hoveyda had 10 digs.

Against Baker, Gingery and Allie Arnold both had 11 kills. Hill tallied 24 assists and Widen had 21. Hoveyda led Ottawa with 14 digs against Park.

Ottawa (4-6) plays 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel.
